I am lucky enough to live and work on the stunning Sherborne Castle Estate. I produce a range of bespoke items for the Sherborne Castle gift shop, Dorset Wildlife Trust and many other independent shops in Dorset. My first pot was thrown at the age of five and I still use the same wheel that my mother taught me to throw on today.
After many years grain trading I settled in Sherborne and had my family. As an aid to keeping me sane from a very hectic and demanding job I always knew I could lose myself in pottery so I continued my favourite hobby. As the children came along and I retired from the grain trade. I spent more and more time doing what I loved and now I enjoy immensely teaching others. We have around us in this world so many beautiful things to take inspiration from that ideas for creations are always changing.
I firmly believe that in today's world we all need to spend a little more time looking after our own mental health and by providing a creative art that is very "hands on" I see the benefits it has for people of all ages and abilities.
